Mechanical Design Engineer

Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering (BE)
  • Experience: 3 to 5 years in a related field, with a preference for machinery-related experience.
  • Software Skills: Proficiency in any 3-D modelling software is mandatory. Preferred software includes SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor, and NX.
  • Industry Background: Experience in automation and special purpose machinery (SPM) is required.

Technical Skills:
  • Expertise in selecting and integrating OEM products such as motors, couplings, bearings, linear motion guides, and O-rings.
  • Knowledge of weldment processes, machining for structural design, and sheet metal fabrication for enclosures.
  • Ability to generate models and detailed GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) drawings for manufacturing.
  • Design calculations, including LM guide movement, coupling torque calculations, and O-ring selection, are a plus.
  • Experience with semiconductor-related activities is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with pneumatic, vacuum systems, and cooling systems is beneficial.

Flexibility: Willingness to accommodate US time zones for meetings.

Communication: Excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and generate 3-D models and detailed manufacturing drawings.
  • Perform design calculations and validate engineering designs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate and select appropriate OEM components.
  • Participate in the design and development of structural designs and sheet metal enclosures.
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies, particularly in the semiconductor field.
  • Support the team with technical expertise in pneumatic, vacuum, and cooling systems.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
